Everyone makes something with their hands for two hours and takes it home: a lamp, a rug, a candle or a cup. Nobody has to be good at it, quiet people get a project instead of an audience, and there is no winner or loser, which suits mixed teams better than most games.
Every studio here says on its own site that it takes private group bookings. 156 of the 391 locations print a group size, 173 bring the workshop to your office, and the typical price is $79 per person.

How booking works
Getting a real, all-in quote is the slow part. Start two to four weeks out, and earlier for December.

110 minHeadcount, a date range and a per-person budget. Check who can’t do evenings, and whether anyone avoids alcohol.
210 minCandles and lamps suit quiet or mixed teams; tufting is loud and energetic; pottery is the messiest and most memorable.
31–2 daysUse the filters for team size and office visits, then ask two or three studios for one price per person including tax, fees and any room hire.

What suits whom

Making something side by side gets people talking without forcing it.
Lamps, candles
Tufting guns are loud, fast and very photogenic.
Rug tufting

Comes to you
A personal project with no audience, and no need for a bar.
Candles, pottery
75 locations print room for 30 or more; for bigger teams, ask for a buyout or two sessions.
Use the team size filterMaybe skip it if a third of the team is remote and would get nothing, or the only slot is a weekday at 4 pm and half the team leaves at 5: ask for a daytime session or a kit-based virtual option.

How we checked
For each location a person read the studio’s own site or booking page. Online kits are left out.
We copy the price the studio publishes, say when it came from a booking site, and never guess one.
No studio pays to be listed or to move up. Missing a studio? Email us a link to its own page.
