• Oct27Tuesday Stewardship Mornings at the FoodwayTUESDAYS · 10 AM · UNTIL OCTOBER · next Tue, Oct 27, 10:00 AMTuesday Stewardship Mornings is a free volunteer session at the Bronx River Foodway in Concrete Plant Park, run with the Bronx River Alliance. Volunteers spend two hours, from 10am to noon, weeding, laying mulch and planting edible and native plants at the Foodway. The Alliance tags the session as kid friendly but gives no minimum age, and it does not list what to bring, so wear clothes and shoes you do not mind getting dirty. The session is listed weekly on Tuesday mornings, starting September 1 and continuing through October 2026. Registration is required through the Sign Up Now link on the Alliance's event page. The page prints no price in its text but tags the event as free. The park address given is 1370 Westchester Avenue in the Bronx, and the page does not name a more specific meeting point, so follow the registration confirmation if it says otherwise. For getting there, Whitlock Ave station on the 6 train is about two blocks from the park entrance. This series also appears on the calendar as individual dated listings, including Stewardship Morning at the Foodway on Tuesday, October 13 and Tuesday, October 20. If you would rather do a Monday cleanup, Monday Morning Pitch In to Pick Up sessions at Starlight Park on the Bronx River are listed for October 19.Free
