Super Fast Beaded Jewelry for Holiday Gifts
About
A one-day beginner jewelry class at the 92NY Art Center where you make bracelets, necklaces and earrings with three techniques: elastic cord, beading wire finished with crimp beads, and nylon thread for earrings; you can also bring your own beads or a favourite necklace to restring. It runs Saturday, November 7, 10am to 5pm, in Room J2 on the 6th floor of the South Building at 1395 Lexington Ave (at 92nd St), a short walk from the 96 St station on the 6 line. Tuition is printed as $200.00, with a modest materials fee for some supplies, and the class page currently marks the session as no longer available. For glass-bead jewelry in Brooklyn, UrbanGlass has beginner bead nights on our calendar, including Let's Get Fruity! on November 14 and Holiday Sparkle Beads on December 11.

New to jewelry?
Jewelry classes teach you to saw, file, solder and polish metal into a ring, pendant or earrings, or to work with beads, wire and chain.
- Ring-making is the classic first class; you often leave with a finished silver band.
- Tie back long hair and wear closed-toe shoes at the bench, since torches are involved.
- Silver and gold may be priced on top of the class fee; the listing says when.
Taking it home: Usually the same day, polished and ready to wear.
