Farm Community Volunteer Days
About
Farm Community Volunteer Days at Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing are Wednesday-morning sessions from 9:30 am to noon, where volunteers learn gardening basics and work hands-on with plants. The garden's events page lists dates from October 14 to November 25, 2026, so check it for later dates. It does not print a minimum age, a price or what the garden provides, such as gloves or tools, and it does not say if registration is required. Our listing records the sessions as free with registration required, so register through queensbotanical.org before you go and wear clothes suited to outdoor work. The farm morning is one of several volunteer slots on the garden's page: Monday compost builds, Thursday horticulture mornings, occasional Sunday compost beautification mornings (October 18, November 15 and December 20) and a one-off Rain Garden Stewardship day on November 19, run with NYC DEP. The garden is at 43-50 Main Street, Flushing, NY 11355. Take the 7 to Flushing–Main St and walk about ten minutes south. Queens Botanical Garden has three recurring volunteer listings on our calendar, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. For farm work elsewhere, Randall's Island Park Urban Farm has its own Urban Farm Volunteers sessions.
