Free Admission on the Third Sunday of Every Month
About
Poster House, the poster museum in Chelsea, waives admission on the third Sunday of every month. The museum's page gives Sunday hours of 10 am to 6 pm, with final entry 30 minutes before closing, so you have a full day. It is the weekend counterpart to the free Fridays, and it is worth knowing that Friday is also the late night, open until 9 pm. On other days the museum is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and closed Monday to Wednesday. Standard admission as printed: adults $15; students and educators, veterans and seniors 65 and over $10; visitors with disabilities $10, including free entry for one care partner; kids under 18 and members free. Library card holders pay $10, and organisation discounts are applied at the Info Desk. Walk-in groups of 15 or more and self-guided tour groups cannot be accommodated. The museum is at 119 West 23rd Street, New York, NY 10011. The 23rd St station (F/M/1/PATH) is at the door. The third Sunday of the month falls on October 18, November 15 and December 20 in this calendar year. Poster House's free Fridays are listed separately. Pioneer Works also opens free on the second Sunday of each month, if you want a second free afternoon.
