Craft Circle
About
A free, self-directed evening with no instructor: bring a portable fiber project of your own, or buy materials in the shop, and work on it alongside other makers; sewing machines are not available. At Brooklyn Craft Company in Greenpoint (165 Greenpoint Ave, or its Annex at 37 Greenpoint Ave #105, shown when you register), near Greenpoint Av on the G. Free with registration, Sunday 8 November, 6–8pm; the shop says there is no circle in December. It is the only free craft session we list in North Brooklyn.

New to textiles?
Textile classes range from weaving on a frame or rigid-heddle loom to embroidery, knitting, crochet, natural dyeing, felting and sewing a first garment.
- Check whether the class is for complete beginners or assumes you can already cast on or thread a machine.
- Single sessions usually make something small: a wall hanging, a hoop, a dyed scarf.
- Bring reading glasses if you use them; most fibre work is close-up.
Taking it home: Usually the same day. Larger pieces may be finished at home with the yarn or thread you leave with.
