Giving Thanks

About

Three docent naturalists explain how Native Californians managed the land before colonisation, through practices such as controlled burning and pruning, on a moderately paced 4-mile hike along the Ipiwa, Alpine Loop and Sunny Jim trails through grassland, chaparral and riparian habitat. It runs Saturday, November 14, 10 AM–2 PM, from the Skyline Ridge Circle Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard (drive/park); children who can comfortably hike more than four miles are welcome. Midpen doesn't publish a price on the listing. It falls in Native American Heritage Month, alongside the East Bay Regional Park District's heritage hikes on our calendar.
