Docent naturalists Stephen Buckhout and Stella Yang lead a short, leisurely 4-mile out-and-back hike on the Old Page Mill Trail through mixed evergreen forest and chaparral with sandstone outcrops, where small waterfalls may appear after winter rain; expect a 500-foot climb on the return. It runs Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, 10 AM–1 PM, from the Russian Ridge Parking Area at Skyline Boulevard and Page Mill/Alpine Road (drive/park); children able to hike four miles are welcome, but strollers can't be accommodated. Midpen doesn't publish a price on the listing. It is the only guided outing on our calendar on Christmas Day.
