Azzedine Alaïa: Sculpting Fashion

About

The first major U.S. retrospective of Tunisian-born Paris couturier Azzedine Alaïa, showing his sculptural, hands-on approach to cut and fabric alongside pieces from his own collection by Balenciaga, Schiaparelli and Vionnet. It opens Nov 21 at the Legion of Honor, 100 34th Ave in Lincoln Park (18 46th Avenue bus, or the 38 Geary plus a walk), and runs to Apr 11, 2027. The exhibition page doesn't publish a ticket price yet; public tickets go on sale Oct 21. Fashion retrospectives at the Legion tend to book up on weekends, so pick a weekday slot.
