Woodburning Art Workshop

Woodburning Art Workshop is a 1.5-hour session at KraftStories' Financial District studio where you burn a design into wood with a heated pen and leave with the finished piece the same day. You can work from a provided stencil template or bring your own design. It is a beginner class: no prior experience is needed, all materials and tools are included, an instructor guides each step, and the studio lists it for ages 12 and up. Public sessions seat up to 12 people. The price is $79 per person. In-person public bookings can be cancelled for a refund up to two days before the session. The studio is at 93 Pearl St, 4th floor, New York, NY 10004, near Wall St (2, 3), Bowling Green (4, 5) and Broad St (J, Z). It is stairs-only with no elevator; the Midtown studio is the step-free option. It is the only woodburning class on our NYC calendar. If you would rather work with machines and joinery, Craftsman Ave's woodworking classes are the nearest alternative, but they are a different kind of commitment; this one is a single evening with a take-home piece, which suits a first date, a friends' night out or a quiet solo activity near the office.
