Make Your Own Terrarium Workshop is a 1.5-hour session at KraftStories' Financial District studio where you build a self-sustaining terrarium layer by layer: drainage, soil, moss, live tropical plants and decorative touches, sealed in glass. You take it home the same day. The studio lists it as beginner-friendly and for ages 6 and up, with all materials and tools included and an instructor guiding each step. Pricing depends on the vessel. A Mini Terrarium is $69, a Medium Glass Jar $89, a Wardian Case $129 and a Mars Dome $139. In-person public bookings can be cancelled for a refund up to two days before the session. The studio is at 93 Pearl St, 4th floor, New York, NY 10004, near Wall St (2, 3), Bowling Green (4, 5) and Broad St (J, Z). It is stairs-only with no elevator; the Midtown studio is the step-free option. Terrarium building is a small category on our NYC calendar: every terrarium listing we carry comes from KraftStories, across both studios. This is the Lower Manhattan option and runs year-round indoors. For a version with wine, the studio's Sip & Plant Experience ($149) runs in the same room, and the Midtown studio runs terrarium classes with an elevator.
