Rug Tufting Workshop is a three-hour session at KraftStories' Midtown studio where you design a custom rug or piece of wall art from your own sketch and make it with a powered tufting gun, taking it home the same day. No experience is needed, professional tufting equipment and all materials are provided, and the studio lists it for ages 12 and up. Public sessions hold 2 to 25 people. The price is $129 per person, shown as a discount from $149. The studio is at 325 W 38th St #706, New York, NY 10018 (Garment District), a short walk from 42 St-Port Authority (A, C, E) and Times Sq-42 St (1, 2, 3, N, Q, R, W, S, 7). It has elevator access to the workshop floor and is wheelchair accessible. KraftStories is the studio that publishes this site. Tufting is a growing craft format, and our calendar lists five studios that run it: Craftsman Ave, Go Tufting NYC, Sense 7 Tufting and both KraftStories rooms. This is the Midtown room, so it is the one to book if you need an elevator, and the Financial District studio runs the same class at $129 in Lower Manhattan.
