Perfume Making Workshop

Perfume Making Workshop is a one-hour session at KraftStories' Financial District studio where you blend your own fragrance from fragrance oils, choosing top, middle and base notes, then bottle it and take it home the same day. An instructor explains how the layers work as you build the blend, so no experience is needed. All materials and tools are provided, and the studio lists the class for ages 12 and up. Public sessions seat up to 12 people, and the price is $79 per person. In-person public bookings can be cancelled for a refund up to two days before the session. The studio is at 93 Pearl St, 4th floor, New York, NY 10004, near Wall St (2, 3), Bowling Green (4, 5) and Broad St (J, Z). It is stairs-only with no elevator; the Midtown studio is the step-free option. The studio also runs a shorter-priced Aromatherapy Essential Oil Workshop ($59) in the same room, which blends with pure essential oils instead. Between them they are the only scent-blending workshops KraftStories lists on our calendar, which makes this a good fit for a gift, a birthday group or anyone curious about how a perfume is actually constructed. Because it centres on strong fragrance, it may not suit anyone who is scent-sensitive.
