Pumpkin Smash
About
Bring your leftover pumpkins, gourds and jack-o'-lanterns to be smashed, and the Lower East Side Ecology Center turns the pulp into compost for city parks and green spaces; there are family activities and light refreshments too. It takes place at La Plaza Cultural Community Garden, East 9th Street and Avenue C, with the 1 Av L station the nearest subway. Sunday, November 8, noon to 3pm, free and open to all ages; registration is recommended but drop-ins are welcome, and Sunday, November 15 is the rain date. It is the only free family event from this group on our calendar this season.
