Community Free Wednesdays gives New York City residents free grounds admission to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx all day on Wednesdays. Visitors who are not NYC residents get free grounds admission between 10 and 11 am on Wednesdays. The garden's admission page does not use the name Community Free Wednesdays and does not say whether proof of residency is checked on Wednesdays, so bring ID showing a New York City address to be safe. Grounds admission covers the outdoor gardens and collections, including the Everett Children's Adventure Garden. The Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, special exhibitions and the Tram Tour are not included and need the All-Garden Pass, which on weekdays costs $35 for adults, $31 for seniors and students and $15 for children, with under-twos free. On other days, the NYC Resident Grounds Access Pass (Tuesday and Thursday to Sunday, bought on site, proof of residency required) costs $15 for adults, $7 for students with ID and seniors 65 and over, and $4 for children aged 2 to 12. The garden is at 2900 Southern Boulevard in Bedford Park. Take the Metro-North Harlem line to Botanical Garden, or the B, D or 4 to Bedford Park Boulevard and then the Bx26 bus. It is the only New York Botanical Garden listing on our calendar. Queens Botanical Garden's Free Winter Admission begins on December 16.
