"duke" by Moses Goods

About

Duke is a one-person play about Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, the Native Hawaiian swimmer, surfer and ambassador of aloha who was born in Honolulu in 1890. Moses Goods wrote the show and performs it, playing at least ten characters. The production opened at Blue Note Hawaiʻi in Waikīkī in August 2026 and toured Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi Island and Maui. This listing is the Oʻahu stop at the Hawaii Theatre in Downtown Honolulu on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The show's own ticket page lists two performances that day, at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm. It does not print a running time, an age recommendation or Hawaii Theatre ticket prices; it links to ticket sales at inamona.org/duke. For the earlier Blue Note shows, tickets were reported to start at $25 for bar seating, but that is a different venue, so check the ticket link for theatre seating. The theatre's box office is on (808) 528-0506, open Tuesday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, and Saturday, 12 pm to 4 pm. The Hawaii Theatre is at 1130 Bethel Street, Honolulu 96813. Parking and TheBus details are not stated on the pages we could read. The same afternoon, Lea Salonga performs with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra at Blaisdell Concert Hall at 4 pm. Kelli O'Hara is at the Hawaii Theatre two days earlier.
