Island Pulse

About

Island Pulse is Capitol Modern's free third-Friday evening of island roots and reggae music, held at the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum's contemporary-art venue in Downtown Honolulu. This is the December 18 edition, a few days before Christmas. The galleries are open in the evening and the Art + Flea urban market brings local artists and food and beverage vendors. The event page lists the evening as 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm with free admission and all ages welcome. It does not name the performers and marks the event schedule as still to be updated, so check the museum's event page for the lineup. The museum's normal hours are 10 am to 4 pm, Wednesday through Saturday, which makes the Friday evening a different kind of visit, with music instead of quiet gallery browsing. Capitol Modern is at 250 South Hotel Street, Honolulu 96813, with the directions link pointing to the second floor. Parking and bus details are not stated on the pages we could read. This is the last Island Pulse of 2026 on this calendar, after October 16 and November 20. The same night, What the Truck?! 2 is listed in Waikele, and the final First Friday of the year was December 4.
