Island Pulse
About
Island Pulse is Capitol Modern's free third-Friday evening of island roots and reggae music, in Downtown Honolulu at the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum's contemporary-art venue. This is the October 16 edition. The museum stays open into the evening with its galleries open, and the Art + Flea urban market brings local artists and food and beverage vendors. The event page gives the hours as 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm and describes the night as a free, all-ages evening. It does not name the musicians and shows the event schedule as still to be updated, so check the page closer to the date. The museum's usual hours are 10 am to 4 pm, Wednesday through Saturday, which is why a Friday night opening is worth planning around. The address is 250 South Hotel Street, Honolulu 96813, with directions pointing to the second floor. The page does not state parking or bus details. The same night on this calendar, Kelli O'Hara performs at the Hawaii Theatre and the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra plays Beethoven's Triple Concerto at Blaisdell Concert Hall. Island Pulse returns on November 20 and December 18.
