Made in Hawaii Shorts 1
About
Made In Hawaii Shorts 1 is a program of five short films by Hawaiʻi filmmakers, shown at the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival (HIFF46) neighbor island encore. This screening is not on Oʻahu. It plays at The Palace Theater, 38 Haili Street, Hilo, on Hawaiʻi Island. HIFF's lineup describes a varied set. Dan & Kat Hide a Body is a dark comedy about vacationing influencers, Massagers 4 Sale follows a daughter in crisis after her father stocks their Chinatown gift shop with massagers, and OLI portrays a Kānaka Maoli soldier living with PTSD. PR follows a middle-aged man training to deadlift 300 pounds, and Who Raised You is about a teen planning to run away. Runtime, language details and a rating are not printed, and some themes are mature, so it is best suited to teens and adults. The showing is on November 14 at 3:15 PM. HIFF says tickets for most neighbor island screenings are sold through the venue's own site, hilopalace.com, and HIFF's page prints no price. On the same day at the same theatre, the calendar lists Keiki Shorts at 1:15 PM and Purehearted at 5:30 PM. A second set, Made in Hawaii Shorts 2, plays at Consolidated Theatres Kapolei on November 5 at 7:00 PM.
