Keiki Shorts
About
Keiki Shorts is a family program of short films shown at the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival (HIFF46) neighbor island encore. This screening is not on Oʻahu. It plays at The Palace Theater, 38 Haili Street, Hilo, on Hawaiʻi Island. HIFF recommends the program for children under 10. The seven shorts range across Hawaiʻi and beyond. Da Farm shows life on a farm, In the Stillness of the Night follows the ʻōpeʻapeʻa, Hawaiʻi's hoary bat, and Shared Responsibility has a boy learning about fishing and restoring a loko iʻa. Ulu Maika follows a girl in a Hawaiian stone disc-rolling game. Ramen Western, Sprout and Grounded come from filmmakers in the United States and Aotearoa New Zealand. A total runtime, language details and a rating are not printed. The showing is on November 14 at 1:15 PM. HIFF says tickets for most neighbor island screenings are sold through the venue's own site, hilopalace.com, and HIFF's page prints no price. The same program also plays at The Mango Theater on Molokaʻi on November 7 at 7:00 PM. Later at The Palace Theater on November 14, the calendar lists Made In Hawaii Shorts 1 at 3:15 PM.
