Star Wars: a New Hope in Concert

About

This Sunday matinee of Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert has the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra performing the film's score live while the movie plays at Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu. The orchestra's 2026/27 season announcement ties it to the film's 50th anniversary and says it is presented under license from Disney Concerts. A conductor is not listed. The performance is on Sunday, May 9, 2027 at 2:00 PM, the final show of a three-day run that also includes Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8, both at 7:00 PM. Each has its own listing on this calendar. A running time and age guidance are not printed on the orchestra's concert listing, but its website has an Attending with Children guide and a Parking and Directions page worth checking if you are bringing younger viewers. Ticket prices are not printed on the orchestra's homepage, so use the Buy Tickets link at myhso.org for current seating and pricing. The hall is at 777 Ward Avenue, Honolulu. After this weekend the orchestra's next listed date is Hapasymphony: Kolohe Kai on June 4.
