Brahms and Destiny
About
Brahms and Destiny is the first of four Brahms Festival Masterworks concerts the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra lists on this calendar, at Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu. Dane Lam conducts, and the Oʻahu Choral Society joins the orchestra. The program includes Brahms's Song of Destiny, Op. 54, his Symphony No. 3 in F major, Op. 90, and The Black Swan (Intermezzo) by Brahms and Bright Sheng, plus a Pacific Brahms Commission by Nilo Alcala, announced as a world premiere. The concert is on Sunday, February 28, 2027 at 4:00 PM. A running time and age guidance are not printed on the orchestra's concert listing, although its website has an Attending with Children guide and a Parking and Directions page. The hall is at 777 Ward Avenue, Honolulu. Ticket prices are not printed on the orchestra's homepage, so use the Buy Tickets link at myhso.org for current seating and pricing. The festival continues with Brahms vs Wagner on March 7, Brahms Dances on March 11, and Brahms and the Schumanns on March 14. Max McNown plays The Republik the same evening.
