Sunday, 10:00 AMBAGI calls this its most accessible class. You cut and layer coloured sheet glass into a small dish, tile, coaster set or sun catcher, and the studio fuses it in the kiln, with no solder or grout involved. Sessions are Sunday, October 25 (10 AM–12:30 PM), Saturday, November 7 (10 AM), and Fridays November 13 and 20 (2 PM) at 635 Phelan Avenue, San José, where you drive and park for free in History Park. At $50, it is one of the least expensive hands-on glass classes in the Bay Area.
Saturday, 7:00 PMThe Bay Area Glass Institute marks 30 years, from its start in a Bowes garage to its studio in San José's History Park, with a potluck evening for staff, renters, volunteers, board members and supporters; a barbecue is available, guests can sign up to bring a dish, and visiting artists will share stories. It runs Saturday, November 7, 7–10 PM; the listing doesn't name a location, though BAGI's studio is at 635 Phelan Avenue (drive and park in History Park). The RSVP ticket is $0.00. The same day, BAGI's $50 First Fire fusing class runs in the morning and its studio pumpkin patch is open through November 20, both on our calendar.
This class runs on request rather than on a fixed calendar — pick a date and time on the booking page.
