Making History: Figure Drawing in the Galleries
About
As part of its 90th-anniversary programme, which looks back to the figure classes it first taught in 1936, Richmond Art Center invites visitors to sketch clothed live models in pencil in its Main Gallery while an instructor guides them through gesture, proportion and line. It runs Saturday, November 7, 11 AM–1 PM, in two one-hour sessions (11 AM and noon) at 2540 Barrett Avenue, Richmond, about a 10-minute walk from Richmond BART. It is free with registration requested, open to all ages, and children under 10 need an adult. It is the only free life-drawing session on our calendar; Sebastopol's weekly meet-up and UC Berkeley's open figure drawing both charge $20–$26.
