Black Point Historic Gardens

About

Volunteers are bringing the long-neglected 1850s gardens at East Black Point in Fort Mason back to life by weeding invasives, pruning and replanting historic and native species. Meet at the top of the main staircase behind the General's Residence at Fort Mason, San Francisco 94123 (Muni 28, 30 or 49 nearby); free, ages 15+, Fridays 9 am–noon with dates listed through Dec 18. The bay views from this hidden terraced slope above Aquatic Park are a perk most visitors to Fort Mason never see.
