Alter This - Alter That!
About
A one-day alterations workshop for people who already sew: bring two or three pieces from your own closet and learn to take in waistlines and adjust hems for a better fit, using a supplied seam-alteration tool pack. You'll need a working machine (with power cord) that handles knits, wovens and bulky fabric, plus scissors; adults 18+ only. Saturday, December 12, starting at 9 am (the listing gives conflicting end times), in LB Building room 1108 at North Seattle College, 9600 College Way N, about 10 minutes from Northgate Station (1 Line). $125 plus a $15 cash supply fee.

New to textiles?
Textile classes range from weaving on a frame or rigid-heddle loom to embroidery, knitting, crochet, natural dyeing, felting and sewing a first garment.
- Check whether the class is for complete beginners or assumes you can already cast on or thread a machine.
- Single sessions usually make something small: a wall hanging, a hoop, a dyed scarf.
- Bring reading glasses if you use them; most fibre work is close-up.
Taking it home: Usually the same day. Larger pieces may be finished at home with the yarn or thread you leave with.
