Play & Print: Holiday Cards
About
A beginner evening of Risograph printing: after a walk-through of the machine and a test print, you design a two-color holiday card with collage, pens and crayons, the instructor prints it, and you leave with ten copies plus classmates' cards to trade. Tuesday, November 17, 6–8:30 pm at Reclaim Clay Collective, 800 S Weller St #201, about five minutes from International District/Chinatown Station (1 Line). Sliding scale $40-$50-$60, all materials provided.

New to printmaking?
Printmaking classes cover ways of making an image you can print more than once: carving lino or wood blocks, screen printing, monotypes, etching or letterpress.
- Block printing and monotype are the friendliest starts; etching and letterpress need more studio time.
- Inks stain. Wear old clothes and expect to wash up at the end.
- You usually leave with an edition of several prints, not just one.
Taking it home: Usually the same day, once the ink is dry enough to carry. Oil-based prints may need a few days.
