Mixed Media Class: DIY Printmaking
About
A hands-on printmaking evening using simple, homemade methods and reused materials, part of the adult Tuesday mixed-media series led by Gus. Class runs 5:30–7:30pm at Seattle ReCreative's Georgetown shop, 6521 5th Ave S, close to King County Metro route 124. The sliding scale is $35 plus tax, $10 or free. The series takes a break the following week, on 24 November.

New to printmaking?
Printmaking classes cover ways of making an image you can print more than once: carving lino or wood blocks, screen printing, monotypes, etching or letterpress.
- Block printing and monotype are the friendliest starts; etching and letterpress need more studio time.
- Inks stain. Wear old clothes and expect to wash up at the end.
- You usually leave with an edition of several prints, not just one.
Taking it home: Usually the same day, once the ink is dry enough to carry. Oil-based prints may need a few days.
