Wet Felt: Glasses Case
About
A beginner wet-felting class where wool is wrapped around a resist, decorated and worked with soap, water and rolling into a seamless glasses case with no sewing. It runs Sunday 25 October, 9am to noon, at the San Diego Craft Collective, 2590 Truxtun Rd, Studio 106, Liberty Station (MTS Route 28 runs along Rosecrans St by Liberty Station), for ages 14+. The fee is $95 plus a $10 cash material fee to the instructor. On 22 November the studio offers another wet-felt class, Painting with Wool.

How it compares
- Weekend
- Take it home the same day
At $95, this sits about the middle of the 5 single-session textiles classes we list in San Diego. They run from $25 to $130, and the typical price is $70.
That works out to about $32 an hour for a 3-hour session.

New to textiles?
Textile classes range from weaving on a frame or rigid-heddle loom to embroidery, knitting, crochet, natural dyeing, felting and sewing a first garment.
- Check whether the class is for complete beginners or assumes you can already cast on or thread a machine.
- Single sessions usually make something small: a wall hanging, a hoop, a dyed scarf.
- Bring reading glasses if you use them; most fibre work is close-up.
Taking it home: Usually the same day. Larger pieces may be finished at home with the yarn or thread you leave with.
