Artists Gallery Talks
About
Opening-weekend talks in the galleries by artists from the museum's new concurrent textile exhibitions; the roster includes Denja Harris, Katie Pasquini, Libby Williamson, Saroop Soofi and Wipoosana Supanakorn among some twenty names. It starts at 1pm on Saturday 24 October at Visions Art Museum, 2825 Dewey Rd, Suite 100, Liberty Station (MTS Route 28 runs along Rosecrans St by Liberty Station); no end time is given. The talks are free and open to the public. The museum's next after-hours evening is Liberty Station First Friday on 6 November.

How it compares
- Weekend
- Take it home the same day
It is free. Most textiles classes in San Diego are not: the paid ones we list start at $25.

New to textiles?
Textile classes range from weaving on a frame or rigid-heddle loom to embroidery, knitting, crochet, natural dyeing, felting and sewing a first garment.
- Check whether the class is for complete beginners or assumes you can already cast on or thread a machine.
- Single sessions usually make something small: a wall hanging, a hoop, a dyed scarf.
- Bring reading glasses if you use them; most fibre work is close-up.
Taking it home: Usually the same day. Larger pieces may be finished at home with the yarn or thread you leave with.
