About

The Vatican Apostolic Library's first immersive exhibition is about water as both life-giver and threat to books, built around Ippolito Salviani's Renaissance treatise on aquatic animals, with manuscripts, prints and contemporary works including a giant wave by JR. Open on Saturdays 10 AM–6:45 PM, entered from Via di Porta Angelica (Cortile del Belvedere), with the library's Sistine Hall and an audioguide in English or Italian. €15 / €10 reduced (under 26, over 65), free under 6; book on ticket.it. Private guided Friday 6 PM visits in English cost €150 for up to five people.
