About

A volunteer trail-maintenance day with the Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council, working on the Phantom and Liberty Canyon trails in Malibu Creek State Park. Volunteers meet at the south end of Liberty Canyon Road, reached from the Liberty Canyon exit off Hwy 101, and park near the end of the road. Work runs from 8am to 2pm on Saturday, Oct 31; bring work gloves, long sleeves and pants, a hat, sturdy closed-toe shoes, lunch and at least two quarts of water, and expect to sign a liability waiver at the trailhead. RSVP by calling the day's leader listed on the SMMTC schedule; the schedule lists no fee. The crew also works this trail on Oct 24, Nov 7, Nov 14.
