Saturday, 12:00 PMA beginner handbuilding class at Studio Sumi, 5031 Geary Boulevard in the Inner Richmond (Muni 38/38R Geary stops outside), where instructor Bri Santo shows you how to make two 12-oz mugs from a single clay slab and add carved or textured surfaces. It runs noon–3 pm on Saturday, Oct 24 for $88, with clay and aprons provided; the instructor glazes and fires the mugs for later pickup. It's a gentler first step than a wheel-throwing course, and you get two finished, usable mugs at the end.
Saturday, 12:00 PMA beginner handbuilding class, run by Workshop SF at its Inner Richmond location, in which you make your own travel mug from clay, at Studio Sumi, 5031 Geary Boulevard (Muni 38/38R Geary stops outside). It runs noon–3 pm on Saturday, Nov 7 for $76, with a repeat on Saturday, Dec 5. It follows the Oct 24 tea-and-coffee mug class at the same studio, so it's the next step if you missed that one.
