Indigo Dyeing and Shibori
About
You fold, bind and tie cloth using shibori resist methods, then dye four cotton napkins and a tote in a natural indigo vat while learning how to mix and maintain the bath. Sessions are Sunday, October 18 and Sunday, November 15, 1–5 PM, at the Crucible, 1260 7th Street, near West Oakland BART. The price is $210, or $200 for members, and the class is for ages 16+. Indigo is one of the quieter rooms at a fire-arts school, and it is a good pick for someone who wants a textiles project with useful things to take home.
