Rangers open the trail to Point Bonita Lighthouse, a working light guiding ships into the Golden Gate since 1855, with a 15-minute 'light chat' at 12:15 pm and the trail open 12:30–3:30 pm. It happens on the third Saturday (Oct 17, Nov 21, Dec 19), free, all ages, at the end of Field Rd in the Marin Headlands, Sausalito 94965; drive/park, or Muni's 76X Marin Headlands Express on weekends. Note the suspension bridge is closed for maintenance, so you reach the viewing platform but not the lighthouse itself.
