Docent naturalists look for the mosses, ferns and mushrooms that appear in the redwoods after the first rains, on a moderately paced 5.25-mile point-to-point hike down Purisima Creek Trail, through the redwoods on Craig Britton Trail and back up Harkins Ridge and North Ridge trails, with a short car caravan to Redwood Roadside Parking. It runs Wednesday, November 18, 9 AM–1:30 PM, meeting at the North Ridge Parking Area on Skyline Boulevard (drive/park). Reservations are required through Eventbrite (open November 4 at noon, close November 17 at 2 PM), and Midpen doesn't publish a price. Purisima's family Counting Banana Slugs walk on November 21 is also on our calendar.
