Straw Rocket Workshop
About
A hands-on intro to rocket science and Newton's Third Law: kids look at a real JPL rocket on display, watch a demo, then build a straw rocket and launch it across the museum with a burst of air, at the Hiller Aviation Museum, 601 Skyway Rd, San Carlos (San Carlos Caltrain is the nearest station, but it's across Highway 101, so most visitors drive and park). It runs 11 am–noon on Sunday, Nov 1, and again Sunday, Dec 6, included with museum admission, members free. It's part of a series of Sunday-morning hands-on sessions at Hiller, alongside Helicopter Adventure and Glider Discovery.
