Opening Celebration: Vishnu's Cosmic Ocean

The museum opens Vishnu's Cosmic Ocean, built around the monumental bronze Vishnu that is the largest ancient bronze ever found in Cambodia, with a Cambodian Buddhist water blessing at 11:30 a.m., Khmer dance at noon, tours, family storytelling and a lotus-flower art activity. It runs from 10 a.m. with the ceremony in Bogart Court at 200 Larkin St, across from Civic Center BART. Free with museum admission. San Francisco is the sculpture's final stop before it returns to Cambodia, so this is a one-time chance.
