32nd Annual Día De Los Muertos Community Celebration
About
OMCA's long-running Día de los Muertos festival opens with a Danza Xitlalli procession and fills the campus with Los Cenzontles, Ballet Folklórico de Carlos Moreno and other performers, community ofrendas, sugar-skull decorating, limpias, a tortilla demo and a Latinx vendor mercado. Sunday, Oct 25, 11 am–4 pm at 1000 Oak Street, Oakland, a block from Lake Merritt BART; $10 general admission covers festival and galleries, while members and kids under 12 are free with advance reservations and door tickets are limited. Now in its 32nd year, it is one of the oldest museum-hosted Día de los Muertos celebrations in the region, so reserving ahead is wise.
