Intro Mosaic Workshop
About
The Mosaic Workshop's introductory class in an evening slot: you learn to cut tesserae with wheeled nippers and a glass scorer, then build and glue your own mosaic on a coaster set or a project up to 12 inches. Monday sessions run from 6 to 9pm at 729 Airport Blvd, with dates posted through November 30. It costs $75 with materials included, grout is optional and extra, and the finished piece goes home with you that day. Weekend sessions of the same class run Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 1pm.

New to mosaic?
A mosaic class teaches you to cut or arrange tile, glass or ceramic pieces on a base, glue them down and grout the gaps — on a tray, a stepping stone, a mirror frame or a lamp.
- Beginner sessions use pre-cut pieces; longer courses teach cutting with nippers.
- Two to three hours is typical for a single piece.
- Grouting is the messy part, so wear clothes you can wash.
Taking it home: Often the same day, though a grouted piece may need a day to set before it is handled much.
