A beginner-friendly workshop with Stevie Ballow in which teens and adults weave a wall hanging of their own design on a circular loom, with all supplies included. Saturday 24 October, 6:30 to 8pm, at Trinkets ATX, 6218 Brodie Ln; $35 per seat.

Textile classes range from weaving on a frame or rigid-heddle loom to embroidery, knitting, crochet, natural dyeing, felting and sewing a first garment.
- Check whether the class is for complete beginners or assumes you can already cast on or thread a machine.
- Single sessions usually make something small: a wall hanging, a hoop, a dyed scarf.
- Bring reading glasses if you use them; most fibre work is close-up.
