Charm Ring
About
A beginner jewelry class with Maddie Tullos where you saw, size and solder a sterling silver ring from scratch, attach a jump ring and finish it with a charm (you can bring your own). It runs from noon to 3pm at The Jeweler's Saw, 2801 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Suite 170. Tuition is $130 with materials included. The studio follows it with Enamel Jewelry on October 25 and Benchwork Basics on October 28 and 29.

How it compares
- Weekend
- Take it home the same day
No other studio on our calendar in Austin runs jewelry classes right now, so this is the place to go for one.
New to jewelry?
Jewelry classes teach you to saw, file, solder and polish metal into a ring, pendant or earrings, or to work with beads, wire and chain.
- Ring-making is the classic first class; you often leave with a finished silver band.
- Tie back long hair and wear closed-toe shoes at the bench, since torches are involved.
- Silver and gold may be priced on top of the class fee; the listing says when.
Taking it home: Usually the same day, polished and ready to wear.
