Pressed Flower Keepsakes
About
Meg Brown of Acorn Flower Press helps you arrange locally gathered pressed flowers, petals and greenery around a flat memento you bring yourself, such as a photo, letter or invitation no larger than 5x7 inches. The workshop runs 10am–noon Saturday at the Center for Urban Horticulture, 3501 NE 41st St (Metro routes 65 and 75), and costs $55 with other supplies provided; limited financial aid is available. A terrarium class follows here that afternoon.

New to flowers?
Floral and plant workshops cover arranging cut flowers, wreaths and centrepieces, or building a terrarium, kokedama or planted arrangement to take home.
- Seasonal sessions — wreaths in December, centrepieces before Thanksgiving — sell out early.
- Bring a bag or box for the journey home; arrangements travel badly loose.
- Most are a single sitting of one and a half to two and a half hours, with everything supplied.
Taking it home: The same day.
