Glass Polaroids
About
A beginner fused-glass workshop where you build up to two small glass "polaroids," each with a 3-by-3-inch image area based on your own photos, layering pieces and flame-bending fine details before they go into the kiln; pickup is at a later date. Participants email their reference images the day before, and closed-toed shoes are required. Saturday, November 14, 1–2:30 pm at Reclaim Clay Collective, 800 S Weller St #201, about five minutes from International District/Chinatown Station (1 Line). Sliding scale $80-$100-$120; the listing notes limited availability.

New to glass?
Glass classes split into fused glass (cutting and layering sheet glass that is melted in a kiln), stained glass (cut pieces joined with copper foil and solder) and hot glass (blowing or flameworking at a furnace or torch).
- Closed-toe shoes and natural-fibre clothing for hot-glass sessions; studios provide eye protection.
- Fused and stained glass suit a first visit. Glassblowing tasters are short and guided closely.
- Hot-glass classes are small and sell out first, especially before holidays.
Taking it home: Rarely on the day. Fused pieces go back in the kiln and blown glass cools overnight, so expect to collect it later or have it shipped.
