Journaling the Garden
About
A relaxed morning of nature journaling for adults of any experience level: a short introduction and prompt, then time to sketch and write out among the fall plantings. It runs 9–11am on Saturday, November 7, starting at the Sharp Cabin in Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main St, about a 15-minute walk from Wilburton Station (2 Line). It is free. Kids ages 6–14 can join the garden's Youth Nature Journaling Club at noon the same day.

How it compares
- Weekend
- Take it home the same day
No other studio on our calendar in Seattle runs bookbinding classes right now, so this is the place to go for one.
New to bookbinding?
A bookbinding class takes you from folded paper to a finished book — a stitched notebook, a journal or a hardcover — and teaches one or two binding structures along the way.
- Pamphlet and coptic stitch are common first projects; case binding takes longer.
- Quiet, precise work with a bone folder, awl and needle. Good for people who like detail.
- Most materials are included; some classes let you bring a cover fabric or paper you love.
Taking it home: The same day, sometimes pressed flat under weight for a night first.
