Begotten (4k Restoration)
About
A new 4K restoration of E. Elias Merhige's 1989 cult experimental horror film, a wordless, 72-minute black-and-white myth in which a god dies, Mother Earth bears a son, and nomads torment him across a desolate landscape. Screenings at Northwest Film Forum, 1515 12th Ave on Capitol Hill (near Capitol Hill Station on the 1 Line), are Saturday, October 24 at 5pm, Sunday, October 25 at 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30pm, Monday, October 26 at 7pm and Wednesday, October 28 at 7pm. Tickets are $15, $10 for students, children and seniors, and $7 for members. The same weekend NWFF is also showing The Daytrippers and a Mourning Sickness screening of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.
