Community Threads
About
A monthly co-working circle for mending, sewing and other fabric projects rather than a taught class; sewing machines, fabric, thread and tea are supplied and experienced menders are around for advice. It runs 2–5pm Sunday at Reuse Commons Lake City, 12558 Lake City Way NE (bus 522 from Roosevelt Station or route 61 from Northgate Station), and is free, with registration through the listing's Eventbrite page. The next circle here is 13 December.

New to textiles?
Textile classes range from weaving on a frame or rigid-heddle loom to embroidery, knitting, crochet, natural dyeing, felting and sewing a first garment.
- Check whether the class is for complete beginners or assumes you can already cast on or thread a machine.
- Single sessions usually make something small: a wall hanging, a hoop, a dyed scarf.
- Bring reading glasses if you use them; most fibre work is close-up.
Taking it home: Usually the same day. Larger pieces may be finished at home with the yarn or thread you leave with.
