Five mornings of drawing that start with white media on black paper to study light, negative space and abstract shape, then push into bold colour, finishing with a live model on the last day; Jean Krumbein teaches and most materials are supplied. It runs Monday to Friday, 16 to 20 November, 9:30am to 12:30pm, at the Athenaeum's La Jolla Art Studio, 1008 Wall St (MTS Route 30 serves La Jolla Village). The fee is $240 for members and $260 for non-members. Krumbein co-teaches the studio's Life-Size Figure Drawing class the week before.
