Custom Wooden Coaster Making
About
A beginner woodworking session with visiting artist fellow Willy Nicholas: sketch a coaster design, learn shop safety and power-tool basics, cut it out on the bandsaw, then shape, sand and take home finishing tips. It runs Saturday 14 November from 10am to 1pm in the Ilan-Lael Big Studio near Julian, with directions sent on booking. The fee is $260 with materials included.

New to woodworking?
Woodworking classes cover spoon and bowl carving, joinery, small furniture such as a stool or cutting board, and safe use of hand and power tools.
- Closed-toe shoes and no loose sleeves; the studio provides eye and ear protection.
- Carving classes are quiet and hand-tool only; shop classes use machines under supervision.
- Many shop classes require an intro or safety session before open-shop time.
Taking it home: Usually the same day; an oil finish may need a day to cure.
