Sweetwater Safari Hike
About
An easy guided walk of about a mile on the Sweetwater Marsh Trail in the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge, looking at the salt marsh's history, plants and wildlife; families can borrow backpacks with magnifiers and binoculars. Check-in is at 11am every Saturday outside the front doors of The Living Coast Discovery Center, 1000 Gunpowder Point Dr, Chula Vista; visitors park in the outer lot and ride the free shuttle (or take the Blue Line to E Street Trolley station). On third Saturdays an expert birder from San Diego Bird Alliance joins with scopes. No price is printed on the listing; sign up through the ticketing link, and note pets are not allowed.
